Wayne Simmonds’ postgame thoughts…
(on his line’s play…)
SIMMONDS: “The third of us are clicking together right now, and it’s unbelievable. We’re playing well down low and we’re doing well in our own zone, and it’s working out well.”
(on his defensive play…)
SIMMONDS: “That’s pretty much the staple of my game, since last year, when coach put me with Zeus for a lot of defensive responsibility. Besides that stupid penalty I took, the rest of it was positive.”
(on that second-period roughing penalty…)
SIMMONDS: “My heart was in my throat the rest of the game, after that. Luckily, Richie came through, and the rest of the team came through, and they bailed me out there.”
(on the importance of not giving up a point…)
SIMMONDS: “It would have been really deflating, I think. It’s a division rival, it’s a four-point game, and that was a huge win, definitely. We’ve got two wins in a row here, and we’ll just look to build off that.”
