Manchester update

For those hoping to see Rich Clune called up to the Kings, well, he’s hurt again. Word from Manchester is that Clune is day to day with another “lower-body injury.” As posted before, Trevor Lewis is out long term with an upper-body injury and, according to Terry Murray, Justin Azevedo recently got “stepped on” with a skate and is out long term.

It seems likely — given that the Kings don’t have any healthy spare forwards — that a call-up from Manchester will come in the next few days. Here’s what Terry Murray said about bringing up a player…

MURRAY: (Ron Hextall) and I talked about it last night. As we get this game finished up tomorrow, and then going up to Canada, we’re going to need to take a look at that, for sure, especially on the forward side of it. … (The Monarchs are) banged up now. It’s unbelievable how many serious injuries they’ve had in the last few days. We talked about a couple specific guys, but nothing was definite at the end of the day.”
