The Thrashers broke the scoreless tie 10:22 into the second period after some hard work behind the Kings’ net and a lucky bounce. Evander Kane went behind the net and was marked closely by Anze Kopitar. Kane went for a centering pass, but it went off the skate of Kings defenseman Davis Drewiske in front and into the net.
