End of first: Kings 1-0

The Kings outshot the Hurricanes 13-2 and no doubt went to the locker room feeling as though they could have scored more. A 5-on-3 advantage of 1:50 failed to generate a goal, and the Hurricanes came within a few inches of tying the game with a late flurry.
