Share your Luc stories

I’ll be heading out for Toronto in a few minutes… The Kings are practicing this morning before their flight to Chicago, so I’ll get an update on that when I land and I’ll share the news of the day.

For now, since everyone is gearing up for the Hall of Fame induction tomorrow, I thought it would be nice for everyone to share their stories about Luc Robitaille, whether it’s an anecdote about watching him play or sometime you met him in person and came away with a strong impression. It seems as though many of you have those types of stories.

For me, it’s just the courtesy he has always showed to me and, I believe, all reporters. I didn’t know Luc all that well before the lockout, but I’ll never forget him offering up his cell phone number and saying, “You call anytime you need something,” and then, when the season got canceled, inviting reporters to his backyard to talk about his thoughts. When you work in media, small courtesies can go a long way, and Luc is the best in terms of that.

So feel free to share your favorite Robitaille story, and also, here’s a conference-call interview he did this week with the Hall of Fame. I should be talking to Luc at some time today to get his thoughts about the weekend…
