Will the Kings be able to take momentum from a late-period goal? The Kings pulled within one goal when Ryan Smyth scored with 58 seconds left in the period. Jason LaBarbera made a poor attempt to push the puck into the corner. Smyth went to the net and pushed the puck toward LaBarbera, who could not control it as Smyth went behind the net and pushed it over the line.

After two periods, shots are 13-12 Kings.
