With Raitis Ivanans in the penalty box for cross-checking, the Blue Jackets took their first lead of the game on the power play. A mad scramble in front of the Kings’ net had five or six players scrambling for the puck, which found its way out to Raffi Torres just inside the right circle. Torres’ quick backhand shot beat Jonathan Quick with 2:58 left in the second period.
