Anze Kopitar, with one goal and two assists tonight, has five points in the first two games.

The line of Kopitar, Justin Williams and Ryan Smyth has combined for nine points in the first two games (three goals, six assists).

Davis Drewiske scored his first NHL goal (edit: note about multi-point game removed).

Drew Doughty had a plus-3 rating tonight after a minus-2 rating Saturday against Phoenix.

So much for faceoffs being a key, as the Kings won only 26 of 61 faceoffs (43 percent) Jarret Stoll won 11 of 14 faceoffs but Michal Handzus lost 17 of 24 (30 percent).

Teddy Purcell had a team-high five shots on goal.

Doughty led the Kings in ice time, at 24:08. Handzus led all Kings forwards at 20:52.

The Kings were 1 for 4 on the power play and 0 for 4 on the penalty kill.
