Reign to face Bakersfield in Outdoor Classic on Jan. 7

The Ontario Reign are taking their game outdoors. The Reign will face the Bakersfield Condors in an outdoor game on Jan. 7, 2017. The game, which will officially be called the Three-Way Chevrolet Condorstown Outdoor Classic presented by Mission Bank, will take place at Bakersfield College’s Memorial Stadium. Memorial Stadium is home to the school’s football team and seats 19,000. Reign 2016-17 schedule released

The Reign’s 2016-17 schedule was officially released on Monday afternoon. Ontario will open the season at San Diego on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. Their home opener will be the following weekend, on Oct. 21 against Texas at 7 p.m. The Reign will face both San Diego and the AHL’s newest team, Tucson, a season-high 12 times. The team’s longest road swing will be a five-game stretch from the end of October to early November where they’ll face Texas twice, San Antonio once and Tucson twice. Reign to face rival Gulls in preseason home-and-home

The Ontario Reign released their preseason schedule on Monday, which will consist of a home-and-home series against rival San Diego. The schedule is as follows: Thursday, October 6: Reign vs. Gulls 10 a.m. PT at Citizens Business Bank Arena (Ontario) Monday, October 10: Reign at Gulls 7 p.m. PT at Honda Center (Anaheim) The October 6 contest will be the Reign’s first-ever “Education Day” game as the team will host over 5,000 students. Reign agree to terms with F Ciampini

The Reign have agreed to terms with forward Daniel Ciampini, the team announced last weekend. Ciampini, a 25-year-old Concord, Ontario, native, split time last season between the AHL’s Rockhord IceHogs and the ECHL’s Indy Fuel. In his first pro season out of college Ciampini registered 1 goal in 10 games with Rockford and 14 goals and 24 assists in 48 games with the Fuel. Ciampini played four full seasons with Division I Union College from 2011-2015 and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award his senior campaign. The Reign will be calling Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario home for the next five years. The team recently reached a lease deal with new building owner SMG, as first reported by The Press-Enterprise. Reign officially announce signing of F Hensick

The Ontario Reign have signed forward T.J. Hensick, the team officially announced on Wednesday although the news was previously reported earlier this month. The 30-year-old Hensick split time last season in the AHL with Charlotte and Utica and registered 40 points (9-31=40) in 65 games. He’s a former MODO teammate of Reign forward Adrian Kempe from the 2013-14 season. Kings sign F Crescenzi to one-year contract

The Kings have signed forward Andrew Crescenzi to a one-year deal, the team announced on Saturday morning. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Before the signing, Crescenzi was the only player in the Kings organization who was a restricted free agent without a contract and his deal now follows the recent signings of center Nic Dowd, defenseman Derek Forbort and goaltender Jack Campbell.
