About Jon Rosen

Jon Rosen is in his sixth season covering the Los Angeles Kings for LA Kings Insider and seventh season covering NHL hockey. A Los Angeles native who attended his first Kings game in November, 1986, Rosen was a broadcast journalist and color commentator with WOLV-TV at the University of Michigan between 1999-03 before moving on as a broadcasting intern with the Las Vegas 51s (Pacific Coast League, 2003-04) and continuing his radio play-by-play career with the High Desert Mavericks (California League, 2005-07) and Everett Silvertips (Western Hockey League, 2007-11). He returned to Los Angeles to serve as a digital and rinkside reporter with FOXSports.com and FOX Sports West between 2011-13. In addition to his work with LA Kings Insider and FOX Sports West, he is also an NHL Network correspondent covering the Kings and served as the Kings’ play by play radio broadcaster from January-April, 2016. Currently, he also serves as a Big Ten Network hockey play-by-play broadcaster and provides play-by-play for NBC’s Men’s and Women’s Olympic hockey 4K broadcasts.

Rosen has covered the Stanley Cup Final, Calder Cup Final, Frozen Four, NHL Premiere, Kraft Hockeyville Classic, NHL Draft, NHL Awards, and a game at Joe Louis Arena in which a puck that caromed off the mesh above Jonathan Quick before bouncing off the goaltender’s back and into the net was counted as a good goal.

Anze Kopitar

As the 11th overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Kopitar became the first Slovenian to play in the NHL. Kopitar has spent his entire NHL career with the Kings, and following the 2015–16 season, was named the Kings’ captain. Noted for both his offensive and defensive play, Kopitar was awarded the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the best defensive forward in the NHL in 2016.

Bio: Doughty is a Canadian defenceman who was selected second overall by the Kings in the 2008 Draft. Doughty made his NHL debut in 2008 as an 18-year-old and was named to the All-Rookie Team. He is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Kings, a two-time Olympic gold medallist with the Canadian national team, and a Norris Trophy finalist.

Bio: Quick is the current goaltender for the LA Kings and was selected by Los Angeles at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Previously, Quick was a silver medalist with USA at the 2010 Winter Olympics. He’s won two Stanley Cup championships with the Kings, along with being the most recent goaltender to be awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs.
