Injury report

Here’s the status report, from Terry Murray, about injured defensemen Matt Greene (lower body) and Davis Drewiske (shoulder)…

(on Greene, who had an MRI on Monday…)
MURRAY: “It was the best scenario possible. He has the green light to get into the off-ice workouts. He can ride the bike and continue with that part of it. He’s going to be able to get on the ice and do flow skating. That’s good news. The time frame, again, is probably close to a couple weeks. What I’m happiest about is that it’s the best case scenario.”

(on Drewiske…)
MURRAY: “I don’t have any timetable on it, but he is closer. He’s doing all the work with the rehab part of it. It’s improved dramatically. I can say that. He’s going to, I think, be ahead of the schedule, if we did report one when it did happen. He’s going to be able to get on the ice here pretty soon, with the practices, and get in there at the end of the skates and really dig in and get a lot of good conditioning and be ready to go whenever he gets the OK from the medical staff to be able to play. It’s a real good scenario for us. He’s a hungry guy. He’s going to push it as hard as he can, off the ice, to get the rehab work through. In my mind, he will be back sooner than expected.”

To clarify, the original timetable for Drewiske, as announced by Murray, was approximately two weeks. That was one week ago.
