Anze Kopitar’s postgame thoughts…
(on the faceoff struggles…)
KOPITAR: “Faceoffs are really important, especially on the special teams. They’re definitely huge. The percentage wasn’t good for us. They’re a good team, but it’s one thing to win it clean, but the other thing is just to battle hard and be there for each other.”
(on what aspects of the game got away…)
KOPITAR: “Well, we want to have that post back in the third period that Simmer hit. I thought that was the game-breaker. Last night, I thought that when Gagner hit the crossbar, that was the game-breaker. Tonight, Simmer hit the post and right after that they came down and scored on us pretty quickly.”
(on neutral-zone difficulties…)
KOPITAR: “Our decisions through the neutral zone were not good. We didn’t get the puck in deep and they’re a good counter team they made us pay.”
