Stoll postgame quotes

Jarret Stoll’s postgame thoughts…

(on the 3-2 road trip…)
STOLL: “I think we can be happy with that. It was a battle for 3-2. It wasn’t easy, but we got three wins out of it. Anytime you go on the road in tough buildings, and these weren’t easy buildings to play in and win in, and obviously we had a couple losses, which is disappointing, but over the long haul I think we can be very happy with this trip.”

(on his line’s play, particularly early…)
STOLL: “We were getting chances, yeah. We had a lot of loose pucks around the net. We had a lot of scoring chances. Pucks were wobbling a little bit out there, but we just couldn’t capitalize. But as long as we keep getting scoring chances like that, we’ve got to be doing something right. We’ve just got to keep going, keep pushing, keep working hard off each other. Nothing fancy, just getting in on the forecheck and turning over pucks.”

(on preventing an Atlanta-type second-period meltdown…)
STOLL: “I don’t know if there was anything in particular. There was a calm sense on the bench, for sure. In Atlanta, I think a panic set in pretty quick for some reason. Tonight that wasn’t the case. We just went out there. We knew we were getting chances and we knew we were doing a lot of good things. I don’t think we were getting outplayed at any point in the game. As long as we kept pushing and staying with the structure and doing our system, playing the way we need to play, we were going to get that goal and that go-ahead goal, and we got it.”
