– Sam Herr, who has had multiple chances tonight, sets up Phil Maillet on a 2on1 point blank look, but Gillies comes up with MONSTROUS right pad sliding stop.
– Campell smothers STK attack to bring some calm. 16:03 to go in 3rd .3-1 ONT
– ONT Penalty: Interference called to Zac Leslie off STK attack into the offensive zone. 1st PP for STK tonight. 3-1 ONT with 14:48 left in 3rd.
– Welp…some miscommunication between the refs has Leslie step out and Crescenzi jumps into the box.
– STK set the power play up and pass around the outside. Distance shot on Campbell into the glove.
– Crescenzi is out of the box. ONT hold 3-1 lead with 12:27 left in 3rd period.
– STK building momentum and chances. ONT not allowing much ground in Dzone. 3-1 ONT with 9:41 left in 3rd.
– ONT Penalty: Paul LaDue takes a slashing call at 10:49 of the 3rd. 2nd PP for STK in the game and period. ONT up 3-1
– LaDue out of the box. STK now 0/2 on PP. ONT is 0/3. 28-27 shots in favor of STK. Neither side taking control on shots/chances.
– Amadio takes the shot on a 2on1 with Sutter. Hits crossbar over blocker of Gillies. Close to claiming 1st hat trick and 2nd HT for ONT this season.
– Assist added to Auger on second Amadio goal. So now 2g for Amadio, 2a to Mersch and Auger tonight.
– 3:51 to go in 3rd. ONT sitting on 3-1 lead over STK. Keeping an eye on Amadio
– Gillies off now. ONT icing. Amadio has to stay out. 1:03 left in game. Heat takes timeout
– No HT for Amadio. Makes change. Another icing against ONT. 28.8
– That’s the game! Reign claim a 3-1 win over Stockton.

2nd Period:
– ONT Goal: Keegan Iverson registers his first pro goal on a great puck retrieval effort. Jamie Devane with the lone assist. Goal comes 37 sec into 2nd period.
– The Crescenzi-Devane-Iverson unity creating multiple scoring chances tonight. Good combo for ONT. 2-1 with 14:55 left in 2nd period.
– Campbell makes diving save. Reaches back to deny a sure STK goal rolling. 2-1 ONT with 12:56 left in 2nd.
– STK Penalty: Colby Robak takes a seat and sends ONT on 2nd PP of game. ONT up 2-1 with 6:18 left in 2nd period.
– PP comes to a close. ONT 0/2, but lead 2-1. STK takes another penalty. Hooking to Josh Healey. 4:40 left in 2nd period.
– 3rd PP comes to a close for ONT. 0/3 now. 2-1 lead with 2:09 to go in 2nd period. ONT up in shots 21-18
– ONT Goal: Amadio finished great setup at right circle for his 2nd goal of game to make it 3-1 ONT. Comes with 6.3 seconds left in 2nd period.
– 2nd period comes a close. ONT with goals in the first and last min of the frame. Amadio with two goals so far. Mersch wish two assists.

1st Period:

– Puck is down in Ontario
– Amadio with the waltz around the defense, but STK’s Gillies with save in close. 0-0 with 15:29 left in 1st
– Hensick sets up Luff with one-timer. Gillies thought pass would be cut off. ONT pressuring. Shots 4-1 ONT. 0-0 w/ 14:03 left in 1st.
– STK Goal: STK cashes in on a set offensive zone faceoff play. Morgan Klimchuck makes it 1-0 at 6:36 of 1st period. Fast passing.
– ONT Goal: Mike Amadio responds quickly for the Reign, chipping a loose puck over the glove of Gillies. 1-1 with 11:55 to go in 1st.
– Just made aware of the Jack Campbell contract extension. Press release, social media, notes, blog and game summary posts being updated…brb
– Will be sure to chat with Campbell following tonight’s contest on the 2-year extension. Now…after all this typing…the Reign and Heat still sit at 1-1 with 5:21 left in 1st period.
– STK swinging the momentum late in the 1st period. 3-4 quality looks on Campbell. Now lead in shots, 9-8. 1-1 game with 3:20 left in 1st.
– STK Penaltiy: Slashing dished out to Luke Gazdic. 2:33 left in 1st. 1st PP for ONT and the game.
– 1st period comes to a close. 1-1 between ONT and STK. Shots finish 12-10 in favor of ONT. Back and forth.

Drafted in 2005 by the Calgary Flames, Sutter was traded to the Reign in 2016. He is the son of LA Kings head couch Darryl Sutter, and the eighth member of the Sutter family to play in the NHL.
