– ONT Goal: Jamie Devane finds Andrew Crescenzi wide open off the right post. Grabs his first goal of the season. 2nd point of the game. Falkovsky also with assist/2nd assist of game. Crescenzi goal comes at 3:20 of 3rd period
– ONT Penalty: Keegan Iverson involved in open ice collision. No call initially. Officials chat, watch replay, send Iverson to box. 4th PP for SD. 12:16 left in 3rd period. ONT up 3-0
– SD defenseman Oleksy picks up a roughing call late so no SD PP. 4on4

– Ka-Boom! Iverson and Oleksy come out of the penalty box swinging. Spirited bout. Two turn right back around and go to box.

– SD has matched their shot output from the 1st period and sit with 10 on the game with 5:43 left in contest.
– SD Goal: Keaton Thompson rips a shot past a screened Petersen from the right-wing point. SD on the board and 1/5 on PP. ONT w/ 3-1 lead with 4:53 left.
– 1:43 left in contest. ONT up 3-1. SD with momentum after the PP goal.
– Gulls pull Boyle. 6on5. Petersen smothers loose puck. Dzone draw for ONT with 1:03 left.
– ONT Goal: Andrew Crescenzi pots and empty net goal to complete a 3pt game (2g, 1a). 4-1 ONT
– That’s the ballgame. Crescenzi with 2g, 1a as ONT defeats SD 4-1. Now on a 5 game point streak. SD head coach Dallas Eakins jogs across the ice to talk to scorekeepers.

2nd Period:
– Puck is down for the 2nd period. ONT on the PK for first few seconds. Lead 2-0 off Brodzinski and Lintuniemi goals.
– PK comes to a close. Both teams now 0/2. 19:01 left in 2nd period.
– Imama and Bickel dance inside the SD blueline. Glove fly and Bickel’s jersey comes off and over his head incredibly. Refs checking the fight strap. Scrap over quick. Imama puzzled. Stothers calling for Game Misconduct on fight strap.
– Imama and Bickel receive 5 min for fighting. No additional time for Bickel. Fight strap ripped off camo specialty jersey.
– ONT out shooting SD 6-0 in 2nd period w/ 12:41 left. Lead 2-0.
– Puck tipped out of play. Bickel and Imama out of the box from 5 min fighting majors. 10:53 left in 2nd period. ONT up 2-0
– ONT Penalty: Sam Herr called for hooking off a neutral zone faceoff. 3rd PP to SD. 10:50 left in 2nd period.
– Penalties: ONT’s Crescenzi chips puck around SD defense for shorthanded rush, but collides with Pettersson. Both are called. Interference and embellishment. Remains 5on4 SD
– PP comes to a close for SD. 0/3 now. ONT leads 2-0 with 8:15 left in 2nd period.
– SD still seeking their first shot of the 2nd period. 4:59 left. ONT with 10 and lead 2-0.
– Auger comes close to making something out of nothing. Nifty spin-o-ramma to set up a shot. Boyle covers. 3:33 left in 2nd period. 2-0 ONT
– 2nd period quietly comes to a close. ONT holds their 2-0 lead. SD with no shots on goal in frame and only 5 total. ONT had 16 shots. Boo birds coming down on SD.

1st Period:

– The Mersch/Brodzinski/Hensick group already eating up some ice time. 0-0 with 16:51 to go in 1st period.
– ONT Goal: Brodzinski crashes the front of the net and knocks in a loose puck. Hensick and Mersch with assists. 13:12 to go in 1st. 1-0 ONT
– That line for ONT is rolling. 7g, 14a over last 6 games (including tonight) for Brodzinski/Hensick/Mersch
– Assist Change: Leslie picks up 2nd assist. Not Hensick.
– SD Penalty: Stu Bickel whistled for slashing. ONT goes to 1st power play of night. 1-0 lead w/ 9:25 to go in 1st period.
– 1st power play comes to a close, but SD takes a hooking call so back-to-back PP for ONT. Jeff Schultz takes a seat. 1-0 ONT with 7:28 to go in opening frame.
– ONT creates some chances late in the second man advantage, but come up empty. 1-0 with 5:12 left in 1st period.
– ONT Goal: What a bounce. Lintuniemi fires from the right point. Partially blocked and skips 5 mph towards the net, but no one sees it including Boyle. Literally rolls in from 50 feet away.
– ONT Penalty: Paul LaDue called for slashing on a charging JST. 1st power play for SD. ONT up 2-0 with 2:20 left in 1st.
– ONT Penalty: Brett Sutter involved in open ice collision well away from play. Signaled for high sticking 5on3 for SD for 1:18. 2-0 ONT lead late 1st period
– Big blocks by Auger and Crescenzi. LaDue is out and horn sounds. 23 seconds of 5on4 PP time for SD to start 2nd period. ONT up 2-0. ONT w/ 13 shots to SD’s 5.
