November 9 postgame notes

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 13-19-4 all-time against Tampa Bay, a record that includes a home mark of 5-12-2. After a 7-1-1 stretch against the Lightning, the Kings have now lost three straight in regulation in the head-to-head series. These teams will meet next at Amalie Arena on February 10.

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 9-2-0 against the Eastern Conference, 6-2-0 against the Atlantic Division, 3-1 in games decided by three or more goals, 5-3-2 when their opponent scores first, 3-2-2 when trailing after the first period, 1-3-2 when trailing after the second period and 4-2-0 when outshot by their opponent.

-With an assist, Anze Kopitar extended his assist streak to six games and his point streak to seven games (2-7=9).

-With his second period goal, Tyler Toffoli increased his point streak to four games (3-2=5).

-Tanner Pearson’s three-game assist streak and four-game point streak (1-5=6) were snapped.

-Oscar Fantenberg scored his first career goal in his 13th NHL game. He has five points (1-4=5) in 13 games this season.

-With an assist on Fantenberg’s goal, Dustin Brown now has five points (2-3=5) over the last five games and 16 points (7-9=16) in 16 games this season.

-With an assist on Fantenberg’s goal, Brooks Laich registered his first point as a King and his first point since April 9, 2016 at New Jersey while with Toronto. It was the 198th assist of his career.

-The Kings attempted 47 shots (24 on goal, 7 blocked, 16 missed). The Lightning attempted 64 shots (43 on goal, 13 blocked, 8 missed). Vladislav Namestnikov led all skaters with seven shots on goal, while Anze Kopitar led L.A. with four.

-Los Angeles won 33-of-63 faceoffs (52%). Anze Kopitar won 13-of-24, Michael Cammalleri won 1-of-1, Andy Andreoff won 1-of-1, Nick Shore won 7-of-16, Dustin Brown won 0-of-1, Brooks Laich won 9-of-14, Michael Amadio won 1-of-3, Tanner Pearson won 1-of-2 and Tyler Toffoli won 0-of-1.

Friday, November 10 is an off-day for the Kings. Their next practice is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at Toyota Sports Center on Saturday, November 11.
