Scoop from Stutts: Reign at Wild – 10/13/17

The Ontario Reign cross paths with the Iowa Wild tonight at 5:00 PT at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines in the first of two meetings between the two teams this season.

The Reign are 2-0-0-0 all-time against the Wild which includes a 6-5 shootout victory in Des Moines last season. This season, the Reign dropped their season-opening contest to San Antonio last Saturday (2-1) and tonight is their second game of a three-game road trip. For the Wild, tonight marks the end of a season-opening three-game homestand and they are also looking for their first win on the year after dropping back-to-back contests to Milwaukee last weekend.

After morning skate, Reign Head Coach Mike Stothers met with the local media to review last weekend’s efforts, recap this week’s practice message of “playing with pace,” his thoughts on starting rookie goalie and Iowa native Cal Petersen tonight and more.
