April 4 postgame quotes: Pearson, Shore, Brodzinski

Tanner Pearson, on the scoring outburst:
It’s kind of weird. You get removed from the playoffs and you come out with a six-goal game the next game, so it would’ve been nice to have that a couple of games ago.

Pearson, on whether it was good to beat a team with a chance at a division title:
Yeah. We’ve still got to be on our game with the teams we’re playing. There are teams still battling for points in the standings, especially those guys, to catch Anaheim. Every game’s going to be so hard fought, and we’ve just got to keep on going ‘til the end.

Pearson, on Jonny Brodzinski:
He can definitely shoot a hockey puck. It’s going to come for him, and it’ll be special when he gets that one.

Nick Shore, on whether anything was different from recent Edmonton games, or whether pucks were just going in:
I think we were just executing on some of the chances that we’ve had. There were some looks that we’ve had the last couple games, but tonight they went in.

Shore, on what his line did well to create scoring chances:
I think it was just everybody. The D were moving pucks up well. Like you said, Brownie and Lewie had really strong games, so I think we were able to generate some chances.

Shore, on whether he wants to continue to build chemistry with Dustin Brown going forward:
I think everyone’s comfortable and knows each other’s game around here, so you can really play with anyone. Guys can get slotted in in a lot of different areas. Whoever it is that you’re called upon to go out with, you’re going to make the most of it.

Shore, on whether there was anything said in the first intermission that rallied the team:
No. Not the start that we wanted, but we knew we had to bounce back in the second and we were able to do that.

Jonny Brodzinski, on what changed against Edmonton to spark the offensive outburst:
I think we stayed on top of pucks pretty well, caused a few turnovers, which led to some big goals. I think that third one’s what we strive to play like. Hit on the boards, create a turnover, take the puck to the middle, shot to the net, rebound goal. It’s kind of picture perfect, so I think that’s kind of how we came out to win.

Brodzinski, on whether the two assists were an affirmation of his work:
Yeah, I feel like I’ve been playing some pretty good games. I’ve been getting my chances, just pucks weren’t going to the back of the net. Tonight, take that shot, Shore gets a tip on it, and then create that puck battle on the boards and we get a goal there, too. Just keep plugging away, keep playing my game and good things will happen.

Brodzinski, on his reaction to his first NHL point:
I actually wasn’t sure if Nick tipped it or not, but then he went and celebrated, so I knew he tipped it. All good feelings.

Brodzinski, on the importance of the win over Edmonton:
I wish we would’ve gotten the last one and this one would’ve been a little bit more important, but right now we’re taking all four of these games that we want to win all four of them. We want to go 4-0. Just keep playing our game, and we will.

Brodzinski, on the team’s short term goals while outside of the playoff picture:
Yeah, I mean, we’re playing for pride right now. We have a great team and we’re just building right now, and if we keep playing our game, it’s all pride right now. We’re playing for each other.
