February 19 postgame notes

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 57-49-24 all-time against Anaheim, a record that includes a road mark of 23-29-13. L.A. fell to 1-2-0 in the season series, with games remaining at Staples Center on February 25 and Honda Center on April 9. The Ducks have won 13 of the teams’ last 18 regular season meetings by shutting out the Kings for the first time at Honda Center since November 29, 2010, a game in which Jason Blake and Cam Fowler scored and Jonas Hiller made 27 saves. 12 of the last 17 games in the rivalry have been decided by one goal.

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 16-13-2 against the Western Conference, 8-8-0 against the Pacific Division, 10-8-1 when tied after one period, 9-21-2 when their opponent scores first and 6-7-0 when outshot by their opponent.

-The Kings were shut out for the eighth time this season (also: at St. Louis, at Chicago, Anaheim, at Boston, Detroit, at Washington, at Tampa Bay). They currently have a scoreless streak of 88:04.

– Since their five-game winning streak, Los Angeles has played six games (1-5-0). They have led for 58:21 of game time, have been tied for 62:15 of game time and have trailed for 239:24 of game time. They haven’t held a lead in five of the six games.

-With a 2-for-2 performance, the Kings have now killed off 32 of their last 33 shorthanded situations since John Tavares’ power play empty net goal on January 21 at Barclays Center.

-By coaching his 1,261st career game, Darryl Sutter moved within one game of tying Jacques Lemaire (1,262 games) for 13th place on the all-time games coached list.

-In his last six games, Anze Kopitar has one assist and a minus-six rating. Marian Gaborik has been held without a point in the last seven games.

-Los Angeles attempted 53 shots (24 on goal, 17 blocked, 12 missed). Anaheim attempted 60 shots (29 on goal, 14 blocked, 17 missed). Jakob Silfverberg led all skaters with five shots on goal.

-The Kings won 19-of-35 faceoffs (54%), with the 35 faceoffs serving as a season low. Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 4-of-10, Nick Shore won 8-of-9, Nic Dowd won 0-of-1 and Jeff Carter won 6-of-14.

The Kings are scheduled to practice at 11:00 a.m. at Toyota Sports Center on Monday, February 20 before traveling to Denver for Tuesday’s game at Colorado.
