POSTGAME NOTES

–The Reign (24-12-8-0) lost to the first-place San Jose Barracuda (27-11-1-3), who won their eighth straight game. The Reign are now 3-2-1-0 against the Barracuda this season. –Ontario’s power play, which ranks second in the AHL, dropped to 25.8 percent by going 0-for-3. The penalty kill finished a perfect 4-for-4 and improved to 79.7 percent.

–T.J. Hensick recorded an assist for a second straight game. Patrick Bjorkstrand has two goals in the last three games.

–Captain and All-Star defenseman Vincent LoVerde missed his first game of the season and head coach Mike Stothers revealed after the game that he suffered a mid-range body injury in the previous contest on Friday against San Diego. Stothers said LoVerde “could be back shortly if everything goes well.”

–Jonny Brodzinski’s younger brother Michael recorded two assists for the Barracuda.

–The Reign were outshot 30-24, including an 11-2 difference in the second period. Both Jonny Brodzinski and Justin Auger finished tied for a game-high five shots on goal.
