February 7 postgame notes

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 13-18-4 all-time against Tampa Bay, a record that includes a road mark of 8-7-2. After a 7-1-1 stretch against the Lightning, the Kings have now lost two straight in regulation – both this season – and were swept in a two-game season series for the first time since 2001-02.

-Los Angeles fell to 11-12-2 against the Eastern Conference, 3-7-1 against the Atlantic Division, 8-10 in games decided by three or more goals, 9-18-2 when the opponent scores first, 5-15-2 when trailing after two periods and 21-15-2 when outshooting their opponent.

-The Kings were shut out in back-to-back games for the first time since being shut out in three straight on October 29 and 30 and November 1. The 10 goals allowed over the last two games is the most goals allowed in back-to-back games since the 4-2 loss to Philadelphia on October 14 and the 6-3 loss at Minnesota on October 18.

-Los Angeles was shut out for the seventh time this season (also: at St. Louis, at Chicago, Anaheim, at Boston, Detroit, at Washington). The Kings have gone nine consecutive periods of regulation since their last goal, scored by Dwight King at the 10:46 mark of the third period at home against Colorado on February 1.

-With a 2-for-2 performance, Los Angeles has now killed off 22 consecutive power plays. The last power play goal scored against the Kings was John Tavares’ power play empty net goal in the New York Islanders’ 4-2 win at Barclays Center on January 21.

-By coaching his 397th game with Los Angeles, Darryl Sutter moved past Bob Pulford into sole possession of second place on the club’s all-time games coached list. Andy Murray leads all Kings coaches with 480 games coached with the club.

-Andy Andreoff played his 100th career game.

-In his NHL debut, Paul LaDue logged 16:11 of ice time, 1:45 of which was spent on the power play. He finished with a minus-two rating and one hit.

-Jake Muzzin logged a minus-four rating for the third time this season. In his 330 games before his first career minus-four rating on December 13, 2016 in Buffalo, he had drawn a minus-three rating only three times.

-Los Angeles attempted 57 shots (28 on goal, 16 blocked, 13 missed). Tampa Bay attempted 44 shots (21 on goal, 11 blocked, 12 missed). Jake Muzzin and Nikita Kucherov tied with a game-high five shots on goal.

-The Kings won 31-of-56 faceoffs. Anze Kopitar won 10-of-18, Andy Andreoff won 1-of-3, Nick Shore won 7-of-11, Nic Dowd won 6-of-10 and Jeff Carter won 7-of-14.
