February 4 postgame notes

-With the win. Los Angeles improved to 43-84-17 all-time against Philadelphia, a record that includes a road mark of 21-41-9. The Kings have points in six straight road games against the Flyers (5-0-1).

-Los Angeles improved to 11-10-2 against the Eastern Conference, 8-4-1 against the Metropolitan Division, 15-8-4 in one-goal games, 10-7-1 when tied after one period, 10-2-2 when tied after two periods and 21-13-2 when outshooting their opponent.

-The Kings improved to an NHL-best 10-1 in games decided in overtime this season. Since the implementation of three-on-three overtime, Los Angeles is an NHL-best 22-4.

-With a 2-for-2 performance, the Kings’ penalty kill has killed off 18 consecutive shorthanded situations.

-With his overtime game-winning goal, Jeff Carter tied Los Angeles’ all-time record for overtime goals in a single season (four; Kopitar, 2015-16) and tied the all-time record for most game-winning goals in a single season with nine (fourth time: Kopitar, 2013-14; Dionne 1980-1981; Simmer, 1980-81). His 27 goals rank second in the league behind Sidney Crosby’s 28, while his four overtime goals lead the league and his nine game-winning goals are three more than any other player’s entering tonight’s action. He extended his point streak to three games (3-1=4).

-Peter Budaj recorded his seventh shutout of the season and now leads the league in shutouts. During the Kings’ five-game winning streak, Budaj has recorded three shutouts, stopped 115-of-118 shots (.975 Sv%) and posted a 0.59 GAA. After Saturday’s game, he has a personal shutout streak of 144:05.

-Drew Doughty extended his career-long assist streak to seven games, which matches his career-long point streak. This is the longest assist streak by a King since Dustin Brown posted an assist in seven consecutive games from December 2-18, 2010.

-By assisting on Jeff Carter’s game-winning goal, Anze Kopitar extended his assist streak to four games and his point streak to five games (2-5=7).

-By coaching his 395th regular season game with Los Angeles, Darryl Sutter moved within one game of tying Bob Pulford (396) for second place on the club’s all-time games coached list.

-The Kings attempted 68 shots (28 on goal, 29 blocked, 11 missed). The Flyers attempted 44 shots (17 on goal, 19 blocked, 8 missed). Jeff Carter led all skaters with eight shots on goal and 11 shot attempts, while Alec Martinez led all skaters with seven blocked shots.

-Los Angeles won 27-of-54 faceoffs (50%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 10-of-20, Nick Shore won 6-of-8, Trevor Lewis won 0-of-1, Nic Dowd won 4-of-8 and Jeff Carter won 7-of-13.
