December 2 postgame quotes: Campbell and Latta - LA Kings Insider

Jack Campbell, on the effort after losing back-to-backs last weekend:
That’s a good effort all around, start to finish. That’s the way we expect to play and we get the results when we play like that.

Campbell, on his injury last weekend and his progress this week:
I felt good last weekend, I just had a little tweak but it wasn’t anything too crazy. Was able to get some good help from the trainers and feeling good this weekend and the team played really well in front of me tonight and just everybody did their job.

Campbell, on the penalty kills late in the second:
Our pre-scout on them was they have a really good power play. We knew it was going to be a challenge and I just thought our guys just really stepped up out there and had some big kills and sacrificed their bodies, getting in front of shots. They have some guys who can really shoot the puck. It was just a great team effort all the way around any sort of situation out there.

Michael Latta, on the team’s overall effort:
I think we always come with a good effort it’s just the little things we do, we shoot ourselves in the foot a lot. That’s been kind of the story this year. As a new team, has some veteran guys but not just young guys, the veteran players too, just being smart and finding ways to win games. This league is a very even league, a lot of good players so you’ve got to find a way to get wins.

Latta, on whether the team was happy with the chances it got:
As a team, yeah, I think so. They’ve got a lot of speed up there but you get on their D, it’s tough to play against us. We have a lot of big bodies and we play a north game, we wear them down. I thought we played a great game. Big response from last weekend.

Latta, on his goal, his first of the season:
Lows started with a breakout, great pass to me and then got it over to Cres, he made a great drop pass and I just put it on net, the goalie went down, so, good. I need that one. [Reporter: Feel good to contribute?] Yeah, oh, for sure. I’ve really struggled to score in this league but that was a big one.
