POSTGAME NOTES

–The Reign dropped 6-5-4-0 and 1-1-0-0 this season in meetings with San Diego, which improved to 8-5-0-2 and won its sixth straight game. The Reign dropped to 4-5-4-0 against Pacific Division opponents.

–The Reign’s power play finished just 1-for-5, dropping to 15-for-56 (26.8 percent).

–Michael Mersch picked up two assists and now leads the Reign with eight assists (3-8=11).

–With a goal, T.J. Hensick leads the Reign in goals (6) and is tied for the team points lead (12) with Jonny Brodzinski (5-7=12).

–The Reign outshot San Diego 27-23. Mersch had a game-high six shots on goal.

–Goalie Jack Flinn finished with 19 saves on 23 shots in his first game since Nov. 11 with ECHL-Manchester and his first AHL games since Oct. 30. Overall, his AHL record is now 1-2-1-0.

–Chris Wagner, who was sent down by Anaheim to the Gulls earlier in the afternoon, had a goal and two assists.

–San Diego received some big-time reinforcements earlier today as defenseman Shea Theodore was sent down from the Ducks as was center Chris Wagner. Theodore has appeared in eight games for Anaheim this season, notching one assist, and Wagner’s line is 19 games / two goals.
