November 19 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 54-31-15 all-time against the New Jersey franchise, a record that includes a home record of 31-11-8. The Kings snapped a franchise-long four-game home losing streak in the series and earned their first win at Staples Center against the Devils since October 30, 2010. Home teams have won just two of the last eight games in the series. The teams will meet again at Prudential Center on January 24.

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 4-3-0 against the Eastern Conference, 3-1-0 against the Metropolitan Division, 7-2-0 at home, 2-1 in two-goal games and 4-6-0 when their opponent scores first.

-Alec Martinez scored his 42nd career goal, surpassing Robert Murdoch for ninth place on the Kings’ all-time list of goals by a defenseman.

-With his third period game-winning goal, Jeff Carter registered his 598th career point. He leads the NHL with four game-winning goals. 29 of his 68 career game-winning goals have come with Los Angeles.

-Nic Dowd recorded his eighth assist of the season, tying Alec Martinez for the most on the team. He’s currently on a career-long three-game assist streak (0-3=3), tied for the longest by a King this season, and tied a career-high with a three-game point streak. He registered a game-high seven hits.

-With his assist on Alec Martinez’s goal, Devin Setoguchi lengthened his point streak to three games (1-2=3). This is his first point streak of at least three games since November 4-8, 2013, while with Winnipeg.

-With his assist on Jake Muzzin’s goal, Dwight King registered the 99th point of his career (46-53=99).

-Derek Forbort logged a career-high 23:44 of ice time.

-Los Angeles attempted 45 shots (28 on goal, 7 blocked, 10 missed). New Jersey attempted 44 shots (23 on goal, 13 blocked, 8 missed). Jeff Carter led all skaters with six shots on goal and 8 shot attempts.

-The Kings won 26-of-50 faceoffs (52%). Among regular performers, Nick Shore won 2-of-8, Trevor Lewis won 2-of-5, Nic Dowd won 8-of-15 and Jeff Carter won 14-of-21.

The Kings are not scheduled to hold a morning skate at Toyota Sports Center in advance of their game Sunday in Anaheim.
