November 13 postgame quotes: Pearson, Setoguchi, Forbort

Tanner Pearson, on whether coming away with one point is a sort of “moral victory”:
Yeah I think that one penalty kind of killed us in the first and then being down one in the third period on the road and coming back and you could say almost winning it. Yeah it wasn’t the outcome but we definitely battled throughout the game.

Pearson, on whether he saw the hit that led to Clifford’s major penalty:
No I didn’t. I don’t know, it’s kind of one of those plays where maybe… I don’t know, I’m not going to try and get anything going. It’s unfortunate they obviously capitalized on it and we couldn’t kill it.

Pearson, on the Kings playing a strong third period:
Yeah we knew we didn’t to come out hard and get back to playing our game and we started playing in their zone and creating chances and we were able to capitalize one and push it in to extra.

Pearson, on his goal in the first period:
Yeah I was kind of just trying to get a shot on net. I think it hit Byfuglien’s stick or whatever, and maybe hit the goalie and trickled in or what not. Just trying to get pucks to the net and you know, that’s what happens.

Devin Setoguchi, on whether he was looking forward to coming back to Winnipeg:
No. I mean, we’ve played San Jose, we’ve played Minnesota, we’ve played Calgary, and now we’ve played Winnipeg so it’s not another game where I just circle. I mean, obviously I played here but I think we as a team had this circled as a big game for us. We needed the two points.

Setoguchi, on whether anything can be attributed to the team’s winning and losing streaks:
Everything is about consistency, right? It’s kind of the way you just worded that question, you know you got to be consistent with your play. You look at the difference in that game and they were ready to go from the start and we weren’t, their power play got two and our power play got zero.

Setoguchi, on why his line with Brown and Dowd has been working well:
We’re just pretty cut and dry. We go north-south, we stick to the structure on the forecheck, three guys. We get the puck to the net, we try to have layers in the offensive zone and get the puck out of our defensive zone as fast as we can to go north.

Setoguchi, on the power play going 0 for 5 against Winnipeg:
You know it’s hard to say, I mean, everything’s different. We’ve got guys out of the line-up, we’ve got guys in and out. We’ve got to figure it out, especially us guys that are playing, we’ve got to figure out a way to put a couple in the net. And that could be as simple as getting it to the net, simple little plays and going from there. But the more we think about it the more energy we’re in the bad ways.

Setoguchi, on whether he’s had a chance to talk to any of his former teammates:
Depends if you guys are going to keep me here much longer, fifteen minutes, but I’m going to try.

Derek Forbort, on whether he’s feeling more comfortable on the ice:
Yeah, I’ve felt pretty comfortable the last couple of games, but I don’t know, yeah. I think the minutes in each game you kind of get in a groove and you know, it’s easy playing with 8 so it’s fun.

Forbort, on the third period push:
Yeah I think obviously we knew we if we wanted to come back then we’d have to come out with a big push in the third and it’s fortunate to get a point but it’s not enough. Hopefully we can keep that momentum going.
