November 13 postgame notes

-With the shootout loss, Los Angeles fell to 12-5-7 all-time against the Winnipeg franchise, a record that includes an away mark of 5-5-3. The Kings fell to 0-7 all-time in overtime and shootouts against the Jets and Thrashers, with four OTL/SOL in the last 11 meetings. These teams will meet again at Staples Center on January 14 and March 23.

-Los Angeles fell to 4-5-1 against the Western Conference, 2-3-1 against the Central Division, 4-3-1 when scoring first. 5-3-1 in one-goal games and 1-5-1 when trailing after two periods.

-Los Angeles fell to 1-1 in shootouts and 5-1 in games that extend past regulation. In the shootout, Deight King improved to 1/1 (2/3 career), while Dustin Brown (19/62 career) and Nic Dowd (0/1 career) fell to 0/1. Peter Budaj fell to 1-1 in shootouts and has stopped four of six shooters this season (.667). He is 20-23 all-time in shootouts in his career, having stopped 97 of 151 shots (.642).

-Dustin Brown played his 900th game in the NHL and his team-leading 193rd consecutive game played. Anze Kopitar holds the franchise record for consecutive games played with 330, set between March 21, 2007 and March 26, 2011.

-Anze Kopitar missed his first game of the season. Since suffering a broken ankle that ended his 2010-11 season, he entered today having played in 386 of the team’s last 391 games (98.7%), dating back to the start of the 2011-12 season. He missed 0 games in 2011-12, 1 in 2012-13, 0 in 2013-14, 3 in 2014-15 and 1 in 2015-16. He has now played 15 of 16 games in 2016-17.

-With a 0-for-5 performance, Los Angeles’ power play is 1-for-30 over the last nine games.

-With 30:22 of ice time, Drew Doughty cracked 30 minutes for the second time this year (last: 31:51; 4-3 SOW vs Vancouver, 10/22/16). Both 30-minute performances came in games that went to shootouts.

-Winnipeg blocked 29 shots. Derek Forbort and Josh Morrissey tied with a game-high five blocks.

-The Kings attempted 69 shots (29 on goal, 29 blocked, 11 missed). The Jets attempted 57 shots (29 on goal, 19 blocked, 9 missed). Jake Muzzin finished with a game-high five shots on goal and tied Jacon Trouba with nine shot attempts (Muzzin: 5 on goal, 3 blocked, 1 missed; Trouba: 3 on goal, 4 blocked, 2 missed). All Winnipeg skaters finished with at least one shot on goal.

-Los Angeles won 29-of-54 faceoffs. Amongst regular participants, Nick Shore won 2-of-6, Trevor Lewis won 4-of-10, Dowd won 8-of-13 and Jeff Carter won 14-of-21.
