November 12 postgame quotes: LaDue and Amadio

Paul LaDue, on the importance of the win:
I thought it was a big win for us. I thought we played pretty well throughout the game, just pucks weren’t going our way. I thought we stuck to it and that was a huge comeback in the third. Kudos to Lindback for making a couple big saves in the shootout and Backman for finishing it off. I thought that was a big step forward for our team.

LaDue, on his first AHL goal:
I think we won the draw clean and [LoVerde] moved it over. I gave it back to him and he made a nice saucer pass back and I just tried to get it through and it ended up going in. Merschy had a great screen in front so it was all around a good goal.

LaDue, on scoring in his first game in the Midwest as a UND alum:
It felt pretty good. Good to get it off my back. As far as playing back in the Midwest, it felt good to get the win against those guys. We’re going to Chicago tomorrow, I know a few guys on that team so it will feel even better to get it tomorrow, too.

LaDue, on what he will do with his first goal puck:
Probably just give it to my parents. They’re here tonight.

LaDue, on what they need to do to beat Rockford:
I think we need a better start. I think we got to get our legs going early and get on them, make it hard for them right away and they won’t want to play us. Three games in three days, that’s hard for anyone. We just got to move our legs and eliminate time and space.

LaDue, on how to get back to low-scoring games:
We just got to tighten up. A couple goals were scrums out front, we just got to pick up bodies. That will come. I feel like we played pretty good defensively as far as not letting a lot of shots against us. We just got to keep plugging away and keep trying to improve.

Mike Amadio, on the win and what it means:
It’s huge for us obviously. We came in here after a couple losses. We knew that we needed to win this one. I don’t think we came out to the greatest start but after we got our legs under us I think we battled back, especially there in the third.

Amadio, on what spurred the comeback in the third:
We just came together there in the locker room in the second intermission and we knew we had to come out strong in the third and make a comeback and we knew that we had guys in there that were capable of doing it and we were able to come back and get the win in the shootout.

Amadio, on the mood on the bench after Iowa’s late tying goal:
I think we stayed positive on the bench. After coming back from down 4-2 I think we knew we could come back and it was good for us to get the win in the shootout.

Amadio, on what the Reign need to do to beat Rockford tomorrow:
Just take all the positives we can out of this one. We know that tomorrow will be the third game in three days for them so we know that we’ve got to come out hard to get the win.
