–In all, 101 penalties in minutes were handed out including game misconducts to both the Reign’s Andrew Crescenzi (charging on A.J. Greer in third) and San Antonio’s Sam Jardine (not having fighting strap on jersey in second). Trotman did not return to the game and head coach Mike Stothers said afterwards that he suffered an upper-body injury, not during the fight but likely from the way he fell, and is unlikely to travel this weekend.

–Defenseman Paul LaDue led all Reign players with five shots on goal.

–Kurtis MacDermid delivered a massive open-ice hit on Jim O’Brien with just over five minutes left in the second period. MacDermid, who was not called for a penalty on the hit, was met by quickly by Sam Jardine for a fight.
