In some good news regarding the goaltending situation that has turned a corner to healthy and reloaded, Jack Campbell was returned to Ontario from the Kings on Monday afternoon. As was already reported on LAKI today, Kings goalie Jeff Zatkoff (groin) is ready to return to action and, as a result, has now officially been lifted from injured reserve.
Earlier in the day the Reign sent goaltender Jack Flinn back to the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL as Campbell’s reassignment was anticipated.
Campbell was recalled by the Kings on Oct. 22 and appeared in one period of relief, stopping all five shots he faced in the third period of last Tuesday’s loss to Anaheim. In AHL action Campbell is 2-0-0 with a .930 save percentage and 2.48 GAA.
Flinn went 1-1-1 with Ontario with a .869 save percentage and 3.57 GAA.
Defenseman Damir Sharipzianov, 20, has also been recalled by the Reign from the Monarchs. It’s the first defenseman-related move since Kevin Gravel’s recall to the Kings late last week.
In 10 contests with Manchester, the 6-foot-1, left-handed defenseman has two goals and two assists and a plus-7 rating.
