November 3 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 73-59-22 all-time against Pittsburgh, a record that includes a home mark of 47-18-11. The Kings have won three straight and have points in four consecutive games (3-0-1) against the Penguins.

-Los Angeles improved to 2-1-0 against the Eastern Conference and the Metropolitan Division.

-The Kings have played 17 regular season and playoff games since their last overtime win, a 2-1 home victory over the Ducks on April 7, 2016.

-Los Angeles’ scoreless streak ended at 205:25.

-Darryl Sutter won his 600th game as an NHL head coach, becoming the 14th coach in NHL history to do so.

-Matt Greene scored his first goal and recorded his first point since scoring in a 5-2 win at Edmonton on March 3, 2015. By playing his 443rd game as a King, he surpassed Steve Duchesne for 10th place on the franchise’s all-time list of games played by a defenseman.

-By playing in his 617th NHL game, Drew Doughty surpassed Mark Hardy for 10th place on the franchise’s all-time games played list and third place on the franchise’s all-time list of games played by a defenseman.

-With two assists, Alec Martinez leads the team and ranks fourth amongst league defensemen in scoring with nine points (2-7=9).

-Los Angeles attempted 50 shots (27 on goal, 12 blocked, 11 missed). Pittsburgh attempted 46 shots (23 on goal, 10 blocked, 13 missed). Kyle Clifford and Patric Hornqvist tied with a game-high four shots on goal, while Trevor Daley and Phil Kessel tied with a game-high six shot attempts.

-The Kings won 42-of-70 faceoffs (60%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 16-of-26, Nick Shore won 6-of-10, Nic Dowd won 12-of-17 and Jeff Carter won 7-of-15.

The Kings are scheduled to hold an off-ice workout at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4.
