November 2 practice notes: Sutter back; Scuderi update

Some notes from today’s practice at the cold confines of Center Ice in Ontario. It was a heavy systems day for the Reign.

SUTTER PRACTICES

Forward Brett Sutter (infected elbow) was back on the ice after not practicing Monday and being scratched in Sunday’s game.

“I didn’t notice it at all today,” said Sutter. “As long as the swelling and stuff stays down I think it will be good to go.”

Sutter called his infected elbow a “freak, scary incident,” and said it was cut about two weeks ago before getting infected last weekend when it “blew up overnight.”

“The last two or three days it’s came around a lot once I got on meds,” he said.

SCUDERI’S STATUS

Defenseman Rob Scuderi will not travel with the Reign to Tucson and has yet to appear in any of the team’s first six games of the season. The 37-year-old was paired with the Alex Lintuniemi in practice. With Lintuniemi being considered the 7th defenseman, the Reign have a healthy group for the road weekend.

LEFTOVERS

Sean O’Donnell made the trip to assist the usual coaches in practice. … Thursday is a travel day for the team and they won’t practice before they head out to Tucson, Ariz., for Friday and Saturday night games against the Roadrunners. … Goalie Anders Lindback could play this weekend, as noted by Kings coach Darryl Sutter in the quotes provided on LAKingsInsider.com today.

And away they go …
