New Ontario Reign Insider: Lindsay Czarnecki

Great news, Insiders – we’ve hired Lindsay Czarnecki of FOX Sports 1 to serve as our very own Ontario Reign Insider.

Lindsay and I worked together when I was writing for FOXSports.com, and I’m proud to be able to once again work with a partner who has a wealth of knowledge of the Los Angeles Kings and their farm system, and someone who has done an excellent job in searching for intelligent, appropriate and timely stories to report. She’ll hit the ground running next week and will be embedded with the club as a regular fixture at Reign practices and games. To receive a steady stream of updates on Kings prospects and day-to-day coverage of the Reign, follow her at @ReignInsider.

There will be another way to receive constant and thorough Ontario Reign updates. Early next week, LA Kings Insider will go through a redesign that will improve both the aesthetic and the backbone of the site. Some areas, such as “Insider Tweets” will be slimmed down, while the site’s archives will be easier to navigate. You’ll also be able to click on a player’s name and load all stories that the player has been tagged in. There will also be a grand opening of ReignInsider.com, which will be accessible by entering that address into a URL bar, or by clicking on the Reign logo that will appear at the top of LAKI. Some Ontario Reign stories will be posted on LA Kings Insider, but ALL Reign stories will be posted on ReignInsider.com. The constitution and purpose of ReignInsider.com (again, separate URL, but accessible via a tab at the top of LAKI) will mirror that of LA Kings Insider. It will be a place for accountable, informative and independent coverage of the Ontario Reign as part of a digital beat platform.

About Lindsay:

Lindsay Czarnecki joins LA Kings Insider with 10 years in professional sports journalism to go with hockey experience both on and off the ice.

A native of Riverside, Calif., Czarnecki currently works for FS1, assisting in TV production as a Senior Assignment Desk editor. She has been with FOX Sports for four years, starting first with FOXSports.com, where she served as a Staff Editor and NHL Editor.

Czarnecki has covered the NHL and ECHL previously for FS1 broadcast use, FOXSports.com and the Los Angeles Daily News.

Czarnecki started playing roller hockey at age 10 and played youth travel hockey as an inaugural member of the Anaheim Lady Ducks. She went on to play college hockey at Division III Concordia College-Moorhead, Minn., where she served as team captain for two seasons, and graduated with a BA in English Print Journalism.

Her first job out of college was a do-it-all Sports Editor position at the Crookston Daily Times, spending many nights covering high school hockey in the freezing rinks of Northwest Minnesota.

She still plays hockey for the Anaheim Lady Ducks Senior Women’s B team, which won USA Hockey Nationals last season in Green Bay, Wis.
