Nolan “rolled his ankle,” not skating in groups Friday

Jordan Nolan “rolled his ankle” roughly two weeks ago and will not participate in full activity with any on-ice training camp groups on Friday, hockey ops told LA Kings Insider.

LAKI was told that Nolan is close to returning, and the hope is that he’ll be able to join his teammates on the ice in the coming days. The injury is not expected to be anything that would keep him off the ice for a considerable amount of time.

In 60 games last season, Nolan, 26, totaled six goals, nine points, 54 penalty minutes and a minus-six rating in an ice time average of 9:58.

Nolan was not included in a list of the three training camp groups that were revealed on Monday. Two linemates he had spent time with last season, Kyle Clifford and Andy Andreoff, skated with Justin Auger – who is virtually certain to open the season with AHL-Ontario – during Group A’s 9:30 a.m. on-ice session.

UPDATE: Nolan took the ice after Friday’s morning’s session in a red no-contact jersey with fellow recuperating skaters Paul Bissonnette (hernia) and Damir Sharipzyanov (wrist).
