Kings Hockey Camps coming soon

The Los Angeles Kings’ Summer Camps are returning to Southern California and Las Vegas this summer and will feature an array of accomplished instructors and Kings alumni leading on-ice lessons.

El Segundo, CA: Toyota Sports Center
GIRLS ONLY CAMP: June 29 – July 1

-All female staff including Courtney Kennedy, Associate Head Coach at Boston College and a 2001-06 member of Team USA who won a gold medal at the 2005 World Championships,a Silver Medal at the 2002 Olympic games in Salt Lake City and a Bronze Medal at the 2006 games in Turin, Italy. She was an All-American defenseman and WCHA Player of the Year at the University of Minnesota
-The staff will also include other accomplished women’s college hockey players

Valencia, CA: Ice Station Valencia
June 29 – July 1

-In the second year running the camp, Daryl Evans and Kyle Calder will serve as on-ice instructors

Las Vegas, NV: Sobe Ice Arena
July 13 – 17

-In the camp’s second year, the Kings are looking to expand the camp from 40 participants to 80 after last year’s success. Daryl Evans and Derek Armstrong will serve as on-ice instructors.

Carlsbad, CA: Ice Town Carlsbad (San Diego area)
July 20 – 22

-In the camp’s second year, Daryl Evans, Jaroslav Modry and Sean O’Donnell will serve as on-ice instructors.

Cathedral City, CA: Desert Ice Castle (Palm Springs area)
August 5 – 7

-In the camp’s third year, Daryl Evans, Sean O’Donnell and Kyle Calder will serve as on-ice instructors.

El Segundo, CA: Toyota Sports Center
August 9 – 15

-The largest of all the camps, the “official” Kings camp serves 125 children each year. Now in its 26th year, the camp continues to feature an array of Kings alumni and an established coaching staff. Evolution Physical Therapy and Fitness runs the off-ice training portion of the camp and provides emergency and injury response and assessment and off-ice conditioning. The camp features a photo day with a current Kings and includes lunches, a personalized jersey, tickets to a regular season game and appearances by Bailey and the Ice Crew and a feature on KingsVision. The Gretzky Foundation sponsors 10 spots each year, which are provided free of charge to The Salvation Army and underprivileged players. Originally established by Television Color Commentator, former Director of Community Relations and Kings Care founder Jim Fox, this camp serves as the anchor of the Kings’ summer camp series. Daryl Evans will serve as an on-ice instructor along with Nick Vachon, Sean O’Donnell, Kyle Calder, Jaroslav Modry and Derek Armstrong.

The three-day mini-camps cost $375 per person, while the Las Vegas camp costs $450, and the week-long Kings Camp in El Segundo in August costs $700. For more details, including hotel information and order forms, click here.
