April 7 postgame notes

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 75-80-39 all-time against Edmonton, a record that includes a road mark of 36-44-18. The loss ended a both a 14-game road stretch (11-0-3) and a 14-game stretch overall (11-0-3) of not having lost to Edmonton in regulation. The Kings’ last regulation loss to the Oilers was a 3-0 setback on November 3, 2011; their last regulation loss at Rexall place was a 5-4 loss on February 28, 2008. Los Angeles finished the season series against Edmonton with a 3-1-1 record.

-The Kings fell to 13-6-8 against the Pacific Division, 23-14-11 against the Western Conference, 14-6 in two-goal games, 12-21-6 when the opponent scores first and 3-19-5 when trailing after two periods.

-With his second period assist on Jake Muzzin’s goal, Drew Doughty (1-1=2) recorded the 200th assist of his NHL career. He now has 66 goals, 266 points and a +39 rating in 522 career games.

-Dustin Brown played in his 800th NHL game.

-Dwight King, Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli had their three-game point streaks snapped.

-Anze Kopitar led all skaters in scoring in the season series with eight points (1-7=8). He has 33 points (9-24=33) in 34 games against the Oilers.

-Los Angeles out-hit Edmonton, 38-33. Dustin Brown finished with a game-high seven hits.

-The Kings attempted 54 shots (27 on goal, 18 blocked, 9 missed). The Oilers attempted 38 shots (22 on goal, 10 blocked, 6 missed). Taylor Hall led all skaters with five shots on goal, while Drew Doughty (3 on goal, 2 blocked, 1 missed), Justin Williams (3 on goal, 2 blocked, 1 missed) and Alec Martinez (4 on goal, 2 missed) finished tied with a game-high six shot attempts.

-Los Angeles won 17-of-48 faceoffs (35%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 5-of-15, Jarret Stoll won 3-of-9, Nick Shore won 2-of-6 and Jeff Carter won 7-of-18.
