March 28 morning skate notes

Good morning from the team hotel, which is a brisk walk across Rice Park and the RiverCentre atrium from the Xcel Energy Center. The Kings have finished their morning skate and are now eating lunch and taking part in team meetings.

Notes:

-No surprises: Jonathan Quick left the ice first at the morning skate and is expected to counter Devan Dubnyk and the Minnesota Wild. Should Dubnyk start, he would do so for the 34th consecutive game.

-From the rushes shown above, no changes are expected from the lineup the Kings used in Thursday’s 3-2 win over the New York Islanders.

-I’ll have stories on Tyler Toffoli’s shorthanded production and how the Kings’ work in the neutral zone has led to an enhancement in their ability to slow down a pair of up-tempo offenses in the New York Rangers and Islanders, thus leading to better puck possession. Also, be on the lookout for Darryl Sutter quotes, which were both entertaining and bizarre. A sample:
