March 14 postgame quotes: Kopitar, Greene, King

Anze Kopitar, on the challenges of fighting from behind against Nashville:
Playing from behind or trying to come behind against any team is difficult. They’ve got a good goalie, they have a solid system, and it’s tough to break it down. Again, we didn’t make enough plays to create chances.

Kopitar, on how much sleep he received last night:
I didn’t get very many hours, but that was to be expected. [Reporter: So you actually got hours? More than one?] Yeah. I got about three or four. I got three last night and a couple this afternoon.

Kopitar, on whether his wife and daughter are doing well:
Yeah, they’re doing really well. Everything went pretty smooth, so it wasn’t too much of a battle. For her, obviously. Not for me.

Kopitar, on what it’s like playing in a game as a new father:
Well, once you come here you’re trying to put everything behind you and focus on the game – and then they remind you in the middle of the third period. You know what, it’s not the easiest thing to do but I wanted to be here for the guys. Actually it was Ines that told me to go and play, too. I obviously wanted to go but she said ‘Yeah, I know you’re going to be itching in the hospital watching. So you might as well just go. You’re not going to be here with me anyways. Just go and do your thing.’ Obviously she’s the best. She’s definitely a trooper.

Kopitar, on what advice other players who have children have given him:
Get as much sleep on the road as I can.

Matt Greene, on whether the game was decided by two bad third period bounces, or something else:
You can always be cleaner, you can always be better. Quickie played a great game to keep us in it. Those are games that you’ve got to win – one-goal games.

Greene, on the challenge of protecting the lead:
We just didn’t do what we wanted to do. I don’t know. It’s playing our game there in the third. They got a couple chances and that was it, and we’ve got to answer back and get a goal of our own there.

Dwight King, on how much luck played a factor in the loss:
It’s kind of the way it goes throughout the season. Those balance out eventually, I think. It’s just unfortunate for I think it was Muzz on the play. They played hard, obviously. They worked for it too, so you’ve got to give them a little bit of credit for that.
