March 14 postgame notes

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 29-24-8 all-time against Nashville, a record that includes a home mark of 14-14-3. The Kings are 4-5-2 in their last 11 games against the Predators and are winless in their last three home games in the series (0-2-1).

-Los Angeles fell to 20-10-9 against the Western Conference and 9-6-3 against the Central Division.

-The Kings fell to 11-9-13 in one-goal games, 18-3-3 when leading after one period and 22-3-3 when leading after two periods. Nashville improved to 27-6-7 in one-goal games and 5-17-2 when trailing after two periods. The Predators have outscored opponents 74-58 in third periods this season.

-Jonathan Quick’s shutout streak ended at 118:10 with Craig Smith’s third period goal.

-Because Jarret Stoll did not play, his club-leading 128-game consecutive games played streak came to an end. Jeff Carter played his 125th consecutive game to assume the lead in consecutive games played. The Kings’ franchise record for consecutive games played is 330, established by Anze Kopitar from March 21, 2007 and March 26, 2011.

-With a first period goal, Jeff Carter (1-0=1) now has 13 goals and 22 points in 19 career games against Nashville.

-Pekka Rinne won his 200th career NHL game.

-Despite the game-tying power play goal, the Kings have killed off 39 of the last 41 penalties, dating back to David Jones’ second period goal in Los Angeles’ 5-3 win over Calgary on February 12.

-Los Angeles attempted 56 shots (24 on goal, 18 blocked, 14 missed). Nashville attempted 46 shots (23 on goal, 13 blocked, 10 missed). Filip Forsberg led all skaters with seven shot attempts (4 on goal, 3 missed), while Forsberg, Marian Gaborik and Jeff Carter finished tied with a game-high four shots on goal.

-The Kings won 27-of-49 faceoffs (55%). Amongst regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 9-of-18, Andy Andreoff won 5-of-6, Nick Shore won 5-of-10, and Jeff Carter won 8-of-15.

The Kings are scheduled to practice at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 15 at Toyota Sports Center.
