March 12 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 103-97-35 all-time against Vancouver, a record that includes an away mark of 40-59-17. Including playoff games, the Kings are 14-5-0 in their last 19 head-to-head match-ups against the Canucks.

-Los Angeles improved to 11-4-6 against the Pacific Division and 20-9-9 against the Western Conference.

-The Kings have successfully killed off 37 of 38 shorthanded situations since David Jones’ second period goal in Los Angeles’ 5-3 win over Calgary on February 12.

-Los Angeles improved to 19-5-4 when scoring on the power play, 25-8-6 when allowing zero power play goals, 27-5-5 when allowing two goals or less, 26-3-6 when scoring three goals or more, 21-3-7 when scoring the game’s first goal, 11-8 in three-plus goal games, 18-2-3 when leading after the first period and 22-2-3 when leading after the second period.

-Jonathan Quick posted his fifth shutout of the season and 36th career shutout. The Kings have eight shutouts this season and 201 shutouts in franchise history.

-Jarret Stoll appeared in his 500th game as a King.

-With two points (1-1=2), Anze Kopitar moved to within two points of 600 in his career (216-382=598).

– With two points (1-1=2), Justin Williams recorded consecutive multi-point games (1-4=5) for the first time since the final two games of the 2011-12 season (April 5, 2012 vs SJS, 2-0=2; April 7, 2012 at SJS, 1-1=2).

-By posting his second game-winning goal of the season, Tyler Toffoli has now recorded eight points (4-4=8) in eight career games against Vancouver.

-Nick Shore logged a career-high 13:19 TOI. He finished with an assist, a plus-one rating and won eight of nine faceoffs.

-Jordan Nolan’s 14:39 TOI was a season-high and his largest ice time haul since logging 15:39 in a 2-0 win at Calgary on February 27, 2014.

-Los Angeles attempted 50 shots (20 on goal, 18 blocked, 12 missed). Vancouver attempted 40 shots (19 on goal, 13 blocked, 8 missed). Drew Doughty (2 blocked, 4 missed) and Jeff Carter (1 on goal, 2 blocked, 3 missed) led all skaters with six shot attempts, while Daniel Sedin led all skaters with five shots on goal. Jake Muzzin, Anze Kopitar, Trevor Lewis and Tyler Toffoli finished tied with a team-high three shots on goal.

-The Kings won 29-of-55 faceoffs (53%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 13-of-23, Jarret Stoll won 4-of-12, Nick Shore won 8-of-9 and Jeff Carter won 4-of-10.

The Kings are scheduled to practice at 12:00 p.m. at Toyota Sports Center on Friday, February 13. Should the practice time be changed, this post will be updated upon the team’s arrival in Los Angeles.
