March 10 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 62-47-12 all-time against the Colorado franchise, a record that includes an away mark of 27-29-4. The Kings are 7-3-1 in their last 11 visits to the Pepsi Center and have points in seven consecutive games against the Avalanche (6-0-1) since a 3-1 road setback on January 22, 2013.

-Los Angeles improved to 19-9-9 against the Western Conference and 9-5-3 against the Central Division.

-By killing off all three Avalanche power plays, the Kings have now successfully killed off 35 of 36 shorthanded situations since David Jones’ second period goal in Los Angeles’ 5-3 win over Calgary on February 12.

-The Kings improved to 22-3-7 when scoring first, 10-8 in three-plus-goal games, 17-2-3 when leading after the first period, 21-2-3 when leading after two periods and 23-12-8 when outshooting their opponent.

-With three points (1-2=3), Brayden McNabb set a career-high for points in a game and a career-high for goals in a season (two).

-By recording his 11th assist of the season, Trevor Lewis surpassed his career high (10; 2010-11).

-By scoring his seventh goal, Jake Muzzin tied his career high (7; 2012-13).

-By scoring his 23rd goal of the season, Jeff Carter now has goals in four of the last five games (five goals total).

-Jarret Stoll played his 499th game as a King.

-Drew Doughty’s 26:25 of ice time was his lowest ice time total since collecting 24:26 in a 4-0 win at Arizona on December 4.

-Kyle Clifford’s two-point performance (1-1=2) was his first multi-point game since recording two assists in a 5-4 loss at Dallas on November 22.

The Avalanche blocked 21 shots, with Matt Duchene and Brad Stuart blocking a game-high four shots.

-Los Angeles attempted 59 shots (30 on goal, 21 blocked, 8 missed). Colorado attempted 39 shots (23 on goal, 11 blocked, 5 missed). Tyler Toffoli led all skaters with 10 attempted shots (5 on goal, 3 blocked, 2 missed). He tied with Matt Duchene with a game-high five shots on goal.

-The Kings won 27-of-61 faceoffs (44%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 6-of-13, Trevor Lewis won 2-of-2, Jarret Stoll won 7-of-15, Nick Shore won 2-of-8, and Jeff Carter won 10-of-21.
