March 7 postgame quotes: Greene, Muzzin

Matt Greene, on the challenges in overtime:
We were trying to make plays, and it’s just a bad bounce. I thought we played a good game tonight, but we’ve got to find a way to get it done. Got to find a way to get on the board.

Greene, on what he liked about the Kings’ performance:
Guys were connected. I think we were traveling pretty well out of our zone. Centers were doing a great job for us. I thought the wingers played really well on the wall. We had some good O-zone time. We just have to find a way to score.

Greene, on whether Pittsburgh is playing with better structure and physicality than previous years:
They’ve always been a good team. We don’t see them that often, but they’ve got a lot of high end skill and a lot of good guys who work really hard that play a fast game. That’s what they gave us tonight.

Greene, on whether one point is “enough”:
No. We wanted two points. [Reporter: Things are really tight. One point does help you out as opposed to-] It helps us, but I mean, these are the tight games you’ve got to win at this time of the year. You have to win the one-nothing games. We’ve got to find a way to do it. We’re chasing teams right now.

Jake Muzzin, on the offensive challenges against Pittsburgh:
Their goalie played well. He made some big saves. I thought we had a lot of chances and a lot of oucks at the net and bodies at the net but he made some big saves when he needed to.

Muzzin, on whether he’s happy with the team’s direction despite the overtime loss:
Yeah, I thought we played well. Some games you’re going to play well and lose, and some games you’re going to not play so hot an win. I think that was a little bit of the case tonight. We played solid but just couldn’t get the goals.

Muzzin, on what caused the game-winning goal against:
Just a turnover, and then a quick countering goal. It was kind of a quick play, but that’s going to happen sometimes.

Muzzin, on what the team did well to limit shots against:
We were good on the rush, and I thought our breakouts were pretty effective tonight – being quick in our zone and limiting their zone time and being in and out very quickly, so we played a lot of the game in their zone instead of being hemmed in in our zone.

Muzzin, on the limited shots against:
We were good in our zone, quick on breakouts. Our rush coverage was nice, back pressure from our forwards and our good gaps from our D. You’ve got to limit those big guys – their chances on the rush – because they like to capitalize on the rush and stuff like that. Did a good job at limiting their time and space.

Muzzin, on whether one point is a good point:
We want two. I thought we played well enough to get two. We just didn’t get the goals, but we’ll take a point when we can get one.

Muzzin, on overtime games being decided by “a bounce here, a bounce there”:
Yeah, I think that’s what it was tonight. One lucky bounce, and quick transition, bing-bang, and a shot on net and in. It’s a tough way, but I thought we played well. [Reporter: Couldn’t have asked much more of Quick, obviously?] No, never.
