February 24 morning skate notes

Good morning from El Segundo, where we’ve spoken with Jordan Nolan and are waiting to speak with Darryl Sutter in advance of tonight’s game against the Detroit Red Wings.

This morning’s lines:

Gaborik-Kopitar-Brown
King-Carter-Toffoli
Lewis-Stoll-Williams
Clifford-Shore-Andreoff-Nolan

Regehr-Doughty
Muzzin-Greene
McNabb-McBain
Forbort

-There were no changes from the lines shown yesterday, though Andy Andreoff cycled through Nick Shore’s line rather than Jarret Stoll’s line. Andreoff and Derek Forbort remained on the ice for extra work with Martin Jones, so expect Jonathan Quick to earn his 15th consecutive start and Andreoff and Forbort to be scratched, along with Alec Martinez.

-Detroit will hold meetings at Staples Center instead of a morning skate today. Jimmy Howard stopped 22-of-25 shots through 65 minutes yesterday before he was beaten by Corey Perry and Jakob Silfverberg in both shootout attempts he faced and will receive a night off today. From Bill Roose, the Wings’ official team beat writer and fellow Wolverine:

-Henrik Zetterberg may miss his second consecutive game. Via Detroit Free Press writer Helene St. James:

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg remains sidelined because he isn’t feeling well, but he hasn’t engaged in the protocol that kicks in when a player is feared concussed.

“I don’t think we think there’s any need to,” general manager Ken Holland told the Free Press Monday night at Honda Center, where Zetterberg missed the evening’s 4-3 shootout loss to the Ducks. Asked if Zetterberg would be available Tuesday at Los Angeles, coach Mike Babcock said, “not that I know of.”

-More to come from El Segundo on a Tuesday game-day.
