February 14 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 56-33-15 all-time against Washington, a record that includes a home mark of 32-14-7. The Kings have won five consecutive home games against the Capitals and have not lost at home in the series since a 3-2 setback on December 14, 2005. Los Angeles is 11-2-2 against Washington in the last 15 overall meetings.

-With the win, the Kings have 42 points at home this season (18-6-6), continuing the best start through 30 home games in franchise history. Previously the most points through 30 home games was 41 (twice, 2005-06 and 1974-75).

-By winning his 123rd game as Kings Head Coach, Darryl Sutter surpassed Larry Robinson (122) for fourth place on the club’s all-time wins list.

-Dwight King (1-0=1) extended his goal streak to a career-long three games (3-2=5). By scoring his 10th goal of the season, he has now reached the 10-goal plateau in back-to-back years. His career-high in goals is 15, set in 2013-14.

-Tyler Toffoli (0-1=1) has points in four consecutive games (5-2=7). Since his six-game absence for mononucleosis, he has nine points (6-3=9) in eight games. His assist on Dwight King’s goal was his 18th of the season, surpassing his career high of 17, set in 2013-14.

-Jeff Carter (0-1=1) recorded an assist for the third consecutive game (1-5=6). He currently leads the team with 42 points (15-27=42).

-King, Carter and Toffoli have combined for 24 points in the eight games since the All-Star Break.

-Justin Williams played his 400th game as a King.

-Trevor Lewis’ second game-winning goal of 2014-15 was his seventh goal overall, surpassing his career-high of six goals, set in 2013-14.

-Anze Kopitar has 11 points (7-4=11) in 10 career games against Washington.

-Jonathan Quick stopped 27-of-28 shots, extending his win streak to four games. He has stopped 191-of-200 shots during the winning streak streak for a .955 save percentage and 2.25 goals-against average.

-Los Angeles registered 35 hits and leads the NHL with 1,820 hits. Jarret Stoll finished with a team-high six hits, while Brooks Orpik finished with a game-high seven hits.

-The Kings attempted 63 shots (30 on goal, 15 blocked, 18 missed). Washington attempted 56 shots (28 on goal, 13 blocked, 15 missed). Dwight King led all skaters with seven shots on goal, while Alex Ovechkin led all skaters with 14 shot attempts (5 on goal, 5 blocked, 4 missed).

-Los Angeles won 34-of-62 faceoffs (55%). Among regular performers, Anze Koptiar won 16-of-26, Jarret Stoll won 5-of-15, Nick Shore won 4-of-8 and Jeff Carter won 9-of-13.

The Kings are scheduled to practice at 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning at Toyota Sports Center.
