February 14 morning skate notes

A very happy February 14th to you, Insiders!

Lines!

Gaborik – Kopitar – Lewis
King – Carter – Toffoli
Brown – Stoll – Williams
Clifford – Shore – Andreoff – Nolan

Regehr – Doughty
Muzzin – Greene
McNabb – McBain
Forbort

Notes!

-Jonathan Quick left the ice first; expect him to start against Washington.

-Much of today’s work was devoted to line rushes and moving the puck quickly up-ice, making it a standard morning skate. No players remained on the ice for extra work, so the lineup projection isn’t 100% firm. Nick Shore appeared to receive the first rotation through in line rushes, while Derek Forbort appeared to be the extra on the back-end. No changes from Thursday’s lineup will be projected in tonight’s game preview.

-I tweeted it yesterday but didn’t include it on the blog:

Martinez was not on the ice this morning. There is a process to returning from “concussion-like symptoms,” and it will take a bit more time before Martinez is able to get back on the ice. He’ll continue to be evaluated.

-After the Flames’ dads took in Thursday’s game, a whole new set of dads will be in town tonight. The Caps’ dads will also take in Sunday’s game in Anaheim.

-Thank you, as always, for reading. More to come on a warm El Segundo Saturday.
