February 9 postgame notes

-With the win, Los Angeles improved to 29-18-4 all-time against Columbus, a record that includes an away mark of 12-10-3. The Kings, who won both games in the season series, are 8-3-0 overall in the last 11 games against the Blue Jackets and 7-4-0 in their last 11 trips to Nationwide Arena.

-Los Angeles improved to 9-11-3 against the Eastern Conference and 3-6-2 against the Metropolitan Division.

-The Kings improved to 7-7-12 in one-goal games this season.

-With his 30th career game-winning goal, Dustin Brown moved past Rob Blake and into a tie with Anze Kopitar for fourth place on Los Angeles’ all-time list. The three players with the most game-winning goals in club history are Luc Robitaille (73), Marcel Dionne (59) and Dave Taylor (47).

-The Kings improved to 16-5-5 when scoring zero power play goals, 8-16-5 when the opponent scores first, 12-1-3 when leading after the first period, 16-1-3 when leading after two periods, 16-11-7 when outshooting their opponent and 7-12-6 in road games.

-Los Angeles won consecutive games and scored at least four goals in consecutive games for the first time since December 18 and 20, 2014, when they beat St. Louis 6-4 and Arizona 4-2.

-The Kings lead the league with 1,756 hits and out-hit the Blue Jackets 39-34. Jarret Stoll finished with a game-high six hits.

-With one assist, Marian Gaborik now has 24 points (13-11=24) in 25 career games against Columbus.

-With one goal, Tyler Toffoli now has five points (2-3=5) in three career games against Columbus.

-With a goal and an assist, Jeff Carter now has 13 points (7-6=13) in 12 games against Columbus. He has nine points (4-5=9) in eight games against the Blue Jackets and has four points (3-1=4) in his four games at Nationwide Arena since the trade. The Kings are 11-0-0 when he records a multi-point performance.

-Los Angeles attempted 62 shots (44 on goal, 9 blocked, 9 missed). Columbus attempted 46 shots (26 on goal, 12 blocked, 8 missed). Kyle Clifford led all skaters with six shots on goal, while Jack Skille led all skaters with eight shot attempts. With six shot attempts, Clifford (6 on goal 0 blocked, 0 missed), Jeff Carter (5 on goal, 1 blocked, 0 missed) and Jake Muzzin (4 on goal, 0 blocked, 2 missed) led L.A. skaters.

-The Kings won 23-of-59 faceoffs (39%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 5-of-19, Jarret Stoll won 7-of-15, Nick Shore won 1-of-5 and Jeff Carter won 10-of-20.

Tuesday, February 10 is an off-day for the team. The Kings’ next practice is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Toyota Sports Center.
