On how long it took him to feel comfortable:
A few shifts, there are a couple plays in the first I wish I would have back. But I thought in the second, Bainer and I played well together and read off each other well. From there, I started getting more comfortable.
On his pass to set up Jeff Carter’s goal:
Bainer got a shot through and I just remember going to the net knowing he was going to get it through. The rebound came right on my stick and the goalie was square to me, so I was trying to find someone in front and Cartsie was there. So it was good.
On whether he is happy with the performance of the defensemen:
Yeah, for sure. Reg wasn’t feeling 100-percent and guys needed to step up. If you’re not playing, you need to prepare yourself to be ready. That’s what I have to do and continue going forward here.
On when he starts thinking about Thursday’s game against Calgary:
It’s next on the list. Let’s just enjoy this for a couple hours, but that’s our next opponent. It’s a big one, we’ve got to have a big win in that game and we have to prepare ourselves and that’s what we’re going to do.
On what the win does for the team’s morale:
It’s great, especially two in a row on the road, it’s big. We’ve been struggling on the road, so this is big for us. We’re going back home where we know we’re comfortable at Staples and we know that we need another win.
