February 5 postgame notes

-With the loss, Los Angeles fell to 15-10-3 all-time against Florida, a record that includes a road mark of 4-6-3. The loss – the Kings’ first to the Panthers since February 9, 2012 – snapped a three-game winning streak in the series.

-Los Angeles fell to 7-11-3 against the Eastern Conference and 5-5-1 against the Atlantic Division.

-The Kings fell to 6-7-12 in one-goal games this season.

-Over the last 27 games, Los Angeles has been outscored 78-71 (excluding shootout goals). Their record in those 27 games is 9-11-7.

-Over the 27 games since December 1, the Kings rank fourth in the league with a 55.0% Fenwick-close percentage in five-on-five play (What is Fenwick-close?)

-The Kings are 5-12-6 on the road (.348 points percentage). Since the introduction of the overtime loss point in 1999-00, the only season in which they generated a points percentage on the road lower than .364 was in 2006-07 (11-25-5 / 27 points / .329 points percentage).

-With his first period goal, Jamie McBain earned his 100th career point (28-72=100). In the 17 games he has played, the Kings are 15-for-56 on the power play (26.8%). In the 34 games he hasn’t played, the Kings are 19-for-116 on the power play (16.4%). Los Angeles’ power play ranks 10th overall at 19.8%.

-The Kings lead the league with 1,690 team hits.

-Jamie McBain’s goal ended an 11-game first period road goal drought. The previous first period road goal was scored by Dustin Brown in the 4-0 win at Arizona on December 4.

-With a third period assist, Anze Kopitar now has 10 points (1-9=10) in 10 career games against Florida.

-For the Panthers, Brandon Pirri extended his goal scoring streak to four games.

-Los Angeles out-hit Florida 47-35. Kyle Clifford finished with a game-high seven hits.

-The Kings attempted 50 shots (31 on goal, 14 blocked, 5 missed). The Panthers attempted 30 shots (20 on goal, 5 blocked, 5 missed).

-Los Angeles won 42-of-64 faceoffs. Amongst regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 10-of-18, Trevor Lewis won 0-of-1, Jarret Stoll won 13-of-19, Nick Shore won 5-of-6, and Jeff Carter won 14-of-20.
