On what Jamie McBain has shown when he has been in the lineup:
We’re making a change because it’s not who’s going in as who’s going out. It’s just a right-handed defenseman for a left-handed defenseman. We’ll see. Trying to win hockey games. Tough to develop players at this level. You better be ready to go or else you don’t get to play. [Reporter: When he has been in, what have you-] Jamie? [Reporter: Yeah.] We’ve used him a little bit on the power play. If he’s on his game, he passes the puck well.
On whether he got to know Aaron Ekblad at the All-Star Game:
Yeah, I met him at the All-Star Game. He’s a classy kid. You can tell he’s not out of place in that group.
On the evolution of the Florida Panthers since the teams’ last meeting:
They’re trying to make the playoffs. They’re the same as the Los Angeles Kings, and right now they’re in a better position than we are, so maybe their evolution is better than ours.
