January 19 postgame notes

-With the shootout loss, Los Angeles fell to 88-108-28 all-time against the Calgary franchise, a record that includes a home mark of 54-45-12. The Kings fell to 0-1-2 against the Flames in the season series, which will continue on February 12 in Los Angeles and April 9 in Calgary.

-The Kings finished their season-long seven-game homestand with a 1-2-4 record (OTL vs NSH, L vs NYR, SOL vs WPG, W vs TOR, L vs NJD, SOL vs ANA, OTL vs CGY).

-Los Angeles held leads in six of seven games during the homestand. In games in which the Kings held a third period lead, they were 1-0-3.

-Los Angeles fell to 13-6-9 against the Western Conference and 7-2-6 against the Pacific Division.

-The Kings fell to 2-12 in games that extend past 60 minutes and 5-6-12 in one-goal games.

-In the 22 games since December 1, Los Angeles ranks first in the league with a 58.4% Corsi-for percentage in five-on-five play (1104 Corsi for / 785 Corsi against).

-Over the last 22 games, the Kings have outscored their opponents 62-61, excluding shootout goals. Over that span, Los Angeles has averaged 2.82 goals per game, while their opponents have averaged 2.77 goals per game. The Kings have scored at least three goals in 11 of their last 18 games.

-Los Angeles fell to 14-2-7 when scoring the game’s first goal.

-With seven points (3-4=7), Matt Greene has surpassed his goal (2) and point (6) totals from last season.

-Trevor Lewis (0-1=1) recorded his 12th point of the season (6-6=12), surpassing his 11 points (6-5=11) from last season.

-By presiding over his 668th game, Dean Lombardi has tied Rogie Vachon as the longest tenured general manager in franchise history. Earlier this year (October 14 versus Edmonton), he won his 300th NHL game as Kings general manager, becoming the first Los Angeles GM to reach the 300 win plateau.

-The Kings totaled 43 hits. Robyn Regehr totaled a game-high seven hits, while Matt Greene, Jake Muzzin and Jarret Stoll recorded six hits.

-Los Angeles amassed a season-high 23 blocks. Matt Greene, Drew Doughty, Jarret Stoll and Robyn Regehr tied with a team-high three blocks.

-The Kings attempted 67 shots (34 on goal, 21 blocked, 12 missed). The Flames attempted 60 shots (23 on goal, 23 blocked, 14 missed). Mark Giordano finished with a game-high 14 shot attempts (4 on goal, 7 blocked, 3 missed).

-The Kings won 38-of-62 faceoffs (61%). Among regular performers, Mike Richards won 5-of-11, Anze Kopitar won 14-of-19, Trevor Lewis won 0-of-1, Jarret Stoll won 10-of-16, Nick Shore won 0-of-3, and Jeff Carter won 7-of-8.

The Kings are scheduled to practice at 12:00 p.m. at Toyota Sports Center on Tuesday, January 20.
